10 Weeks: My Husband Has My Symptoms

So technically I'm 10 weeks, 3 days, but who's counting? :)

While I'm green around the gills all day long and repulsed by any and all food, my husband has developed some really strange pregnancy cravings.

Last night for dinner all he wanted was a hard-boiled egg and pickles, and then about an hour later he was craving ice cream so bad he had to make a Kroger run (I knew we shouldn't have moved right across the street from Kroger!) to get some.

I honestly meant to post some 10 week pictures this weekend, but I can't find my cord to connect my camera to the computer! There's still not anything to see though. I really do feel thicker and my pants are getting tighter, but when I look in the mirror there isn't anything there! What's up with that?

We go to our first midwife appointment on Friday morning to hear the heartbeat and I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED! I'll definitely let you know how that goes!

Speaking of the midwife, we didn't really think it was that big of a deal, and it just hadn't yet come up in conversation with our parents. Well last weekend my parents and I went to church with Josh's parents and his mom said, "I had to find out from Celisa (my really close friend's mother-in-law) that they were going to a midwife!" To which my mom replied, "Oh yeah, well I had to find out from you just now!" Hahaha it was hilarious!

And to answer the 2 questions that come up most often about a midwife:

Why a midwife?

OB/GYNs are great when they are needed for surgery, but truth be told, most don't know a thing about a normal, natural birth. If you are going for normal, natural, intervention-free (and I am), then a midwife is the best way to go. And even if you want pain medications, midwives can still do that. Having a midwife dramatically reduces your chances of having a c-section.

Are you having the baby at home?

No, it will be in a hospital, and there will be doctors nearby in the rare case that something may go wrong. Although if I had my way I would have it at home, but that's a rant for another day. :)

I guess that's about it for 10 weeks. Still really queasy, still really tired, still no belly, but the heartburn is already starting to kick in!

Edited to add: It's official... I AM getting thicker! I thought my pants were getting tighter, but had no hard evidence. Well, I have a pair of dress pants that were so big I could barely keep them on pre-preg, but I put them on for the first time in a long time today and they fit snugly! My belly isn't getting any bigger but I'm getting thicker in lower part of my abdomen, if that makes sense.
