Hi, Jude here. I had such an awesome year this year, that I thought I'd take over Mama's blog to tell you all about it. I hope she doesn't mind!
I got to kick off 2010 in Kentucky with Mama and Daddy's families. I didn't actually get to stay up until midnight, but maybe someday.
While I was in Kentucky, I got to play with a lot of my family that I don't get to see very often. I especially liked playing with Annie because she is almost my size but just a little bit smaller, so I could take her toys if I want to. Mama tells me that she's going to be a lot bigger when we get back to Kentucky next year, so that might not be as easy. But I'll be bigger too, so we'll see...
I also got to have TWO awesome first birthday parties! I LOVED smashing the cake! Everybody thought it was funny when I made a mess with it, so I kept making an even bigger mess to get even bigger laughs... it was great!
In March, I had to say bye-bye to everybody in Kentucky and fly back to Moldova. It was sad to say bye-bye, but I see them almost every day on Skype, so it's not too bad.
Everyone in Moldova was happy to see us again!
In April, we had Easter and I got to hunt Easter Eggs for the first time! That was really interesting. I kind of thought at first that the eggs were balls, so I tried throwing them, but they just broke and crumbled. Mama and Daddy told me how Easter is about Jesus dying and then coming back to life... that sounds really cool! They talk about Jesus a lot, I can't wait to learn more about him as I get bigger.
In June, Tia came to visit! Oh man, she is a lot of fun.
And then a few days later, Mammie, Pappy, and Memaw came too! We had a very, very fun two weeks while they stayed here with us. I loved getting to play with them all day every day.
In August, Mama and Daddy loaded up the car and we drove to Greece! We spent a LOT of time in the car, and it was REALLY hot, but we had a good time too. I got to swim in the Mediterranean Sea and play on the beach...
... and see the Parthenon (and lots of other old things that Mama and Daddy were excited about, but I honestly didn't get what the big deal was). The swimming pools in the hotels were the highlight of my trip, for sure!
In November, we celebrated Thanksgiving. Mama cooked a lot of food, but I thought it all looked yucky except for the corn and turkey.
Let me tell you about this white stuff that falls out of the sky and gets all over everything... I don't like it. It's cold and it feels weird to walk on. I don't know why Mama and Daddy got so excited about taking me outside in it the first time it happened this winter... I was not impressed.
Then, one morning I was playing the game where I drop paper through the rails above the steps, and Mama and Daddy were in Daddy's office (very close, but they couldn't see me). I was watching the paper fall when I leaned too far and fell head-first! It hurt SO bad and Mama and Daddy were very scared. We went to the hospital, and when I woke up from a good nap, I was back to my old self. The cut on my head and the bruise on my arm were the only boo-boos I had. Mama and Daddy kissed me a lot after that and kept saying that they were so thankful to God that I was okay. I'm also not allowed upstairs at all anymore.
Moving right along... I had a great Christmas! I got to open lots of presents from my grandparents and my parents (although I'm pretty sure that the new sippy cup Mama and Daddy got me will kill me if I ever drink out of it), and I even got to talk to my grandparents on skype while I was opening the presents.
Overall, I'd say it's been a great year! I can't wait to see what 2011 will bring!
