24 Weeks Pregnant!

I figured it was time for another pregnancy update since I haven't written one in a few weeks.  This blog is more or less serving as my pregnancy journal, since I'm not writing this stuff down anywhere else.  So I write this stuff really more for myself than anybody else... but of course I enjoy it when my friends and family read it. :)

Things have been going pretty well.  Baby Hutch is very active in there and kicking up a storm as I type right now.  I love it.  I love every single little kick and punch and swish.  I just can't get over what a miracle it is that there is a real live person growing inside of me who is going to come out in just 3 1/2 short months and change our lives forever.

I just have to share this picture that we took this morning.  Hubs wanted to compare bellies, since he has also been "eating for two" lately.  His face cracks me up:

I was looking at my pictures this morning and I can tell a big difference between 22 weeks and 24 weeks.  Baby Center says that Baby Hutch should have had a growth spurt during that time, so it makes sense.  I've gained about 10 lbs so far, which puts me right back at my pre-pregnancy weight, since I lost 10 lbs in the first trimester from all of the nausea.  I figure that I'm doing pretty good to be 5 1/2 months pregnant and weigh the same as I did right before I got pregnant, huh?

I've begun to have little bursts of nesting in the evenings and on Saturdays.  We've lived here for 10 months now and we finally just hung some (not all) of our curtains this past week.  There are still several rods waiting to be hung because we both got tired and frustrated before the job was finished.  This all finally is happening because my mom gave us her old curtains from her bedroom (they remodeled- put in sliding glass doors and built a deck and painted and it basically looks awesome), so our bedroom actually almost looks like a bedroom now instead of like a bare white cell.  I also find a lot of satisfaction lately in keeping the kitchen and bedroom clean.  Maybe I'm not a hopeless messy after all, Mom. :)

I've been having pretty frequent Braxton-Hicks contractions since about 20 weeks.  They don't hurt, I just get uncomfortable and short of breath, and then I feel my stomach and it's as hard as a rock.  They are supposed to be a good thing, toning everything for labor and whatnot, so it's nothing to be concerned about.

Okay, I guess I've said enough.  Only 3 1/2 months or so until we meet this little guy!  I'm so excited!

  1. You look great! I had a lot of braxton-hicks since about the same time as you. I thought they were uncomfortable, until I felt REAL labor. ha! :)
